Humeral head: medial epicondyle and supracondylar ridge. Ulnar head: coronoid process.
Insertion
Middle of the lateral surface of the radial shaft.
Action
Pronates the forearm and weakly flexes the elbow; the median nerve slips between its two heads.
Nerve supply
Median nerve (C6–C7).
Blood supply
Ulnar and radial arteries.
Clinical relevance
The median nerve's passage between its heads explains pronator syndrome — forearm aching with thenar weakness; the muscle is the proximal landmark of Henry's surgical approach.
