Roots

T6 anterior ramus.

Course

Sixth intercostal space's neurovascular plane, from spine to sternum.

Motor supply

Sixth space's intercostal muscles.

Clinical relevance

The T6 dermatome crosses the xiphoid process; T7–T11 continue into the abdominal wall, so their irritation can mimic upper-abdominal disease.
