MuscleArm — anterior compartment
Coracobrachialis
Latin: M. coracobrachialis
Location: Arm
View the coracobrachialis in 3DOrigin
Coracoid process of the scapula (with the short head of biceps).
Insertion
Middle of the medial surface of the humeral shaft.
Action
Weakly flexes and adducts the arm; a landmark in the axilla — the musculocutaneous nerve pierces it, and the axillary artery runs along its medial border.
Nerve supply
Musculocutaneous nerve (C5–C7).
Blood supply
Brachial artery branches.
Clinical relevance
The musculocutaneous nerve pierces it — entrapment here weakens elbow flexors and numbs the lateral forearm.
